RSS (Really Smart Skiddie2)

There's been a bit of a discussion on your blogs and on Twitter as to whether its possible to gather all the RSS feeds of the participating Cam23 blogs in Google Reader so you don't have to add them all individually.

The very brilliant @skiddie2 (Twitter username) has come up with a solution which he has blogged about here.

Go see!

Edit: See the comment below to see how this has been achieved on NetVibes.

  1. I have also set up a netvibes page that everyone can view at

    http://www.netvibes.com/cam23blogfeeds#cam23blogs

I used Josh's list and OPML creator which were very helpful

  2. I've added all the blogs in Josh's list, plus the more recent additions, to my Google Reader, and created a 'shared bundle' that anyone else can see. I think this means that if you go here you can subscribe to all the blogs, and/or download the OPML file. Could someone try it out for me and say if it works or not? Thanks!

  4. Ooh great! Have you both added comments feeds or just the post feeds?

  5. Just the post feeds from me, I'm afraid.

  8. You're all very welcome! I'm glad it's useful. I've updated the feed with the latest blogs to join the fray, and will try to keep on top of any others that come along. If anyone sees a blog that's missing, please let me know.

  9. On the netvibes pages I did 2 tabs - one for blogs and one for blog comments so you can see both.

Also means you don't have to fill up you blog reader.

  10. LK - Thanks. After visiting the page several times, I still haven't decided whether I like Netvibes (the appearance/layout. I'm very shallow). Hmm. Do you use it regularly? What are the benefits?

I'm always on the market for a new-and-better RSS reader, and it's always good to try new things! Thank you.

  11. I had only used netvibes to look at the CILIP RSS feeds for their big conversation until this cam23 thing. I am using the google reader now for my RSS feeds but didn't want to fill it up with 50 odd cam23 blogs. I have just added a few that caught my and will follow closely but good also to be able to glance at them all now and again via the netvibes page.

After Josh created the handy list I thought I would try a public page on netvibes that everyone can see so that if people didn't want to add all the rss feeds to their reader they can just look at the netvibes page now and again.

Obviously as the page was created by me other people can't edit it so people may still prefer to add the rss feeds elsewhere.

it was just another option really. Of course if you create your own page you can edit it how you like.

  12. I have also now updated the netvibes page with the latest blogs and second tab with the comments. Although that was the list this morning I expect there are some more now!
